Police investigating a theft case found the suspect who was with another man in possession of drugs and weapons, according to a press release.

According to an announcement from the Hollister Police Department: On March 31, Officer Yamamoto conducted a shoplifting investigation at Ace Hardware. Video surveillance was obtained and still images of the suspect were disseminated throughout the police department.

Just a couple hours later Detective Leland was at the Quick Stop Market at 10 San Felipe Road when he observed a man who looked just like the suspect in the surveillance photos of the theft.

The man was seated in the passenger side of a vehicle and Detective Leland confirmed it was the same suspect being sought by Officer Yamamoto.  The driver of the car was identified as Robert Jimenez (51) and officers discovered he had four warrants for his arrest.

Jimenez was arrested for the warrants and found to be in possession of illegal metal knuckles and illegal narcotics.  He was transported to the San Benito County Jail and booked for the four warrants and the drug charges.

The theft suspect was questioned and released at the scene with charges being referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
