Hawk Erik Olson has 24-point, 20-rebound performance, but
Greenfield spoils Anzar’s MTAL opener with 47-36 win
Greenfield – Anzar’s Erik Olson had yet another double-double Tuesday, but the Greenfield Bruins would take the game as they defeated the Hawks 47-36.

Olson had 24 points on 10 of 16 shooting and pulled down 20 rebounds to lead the Hawks. Anzar’s second leading scorer, however, had only seven points.

“They managed to play well enough to beat us,” coach Ed Cecena said. “We just didn’t play well …”

Olson added four blocks, three assists and a steal on the night.

It was the Mission Trail Athletic League opener for Anzar, who has compiled a 5-10 overall record to date.

“I think we should have beaten them,” Cecena said. “We were pretty evenly matched.”

The Hawks will look to score their first league win on Thursday when they host King City in San Juan Bautista. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
