Sports Briefs: Ridgemark Tennis Club scores wins
The San Benito High football team will participate in the Team
First Football Camp on Friday and Saturday at North Salinas
High.
The Haybalers will be one of six teams present at the camp, with
North Salinas, North Monterey County, Everett Alvarez, Lincoln and
Clovis High also expected to be in attendance.
Clovis High is head coached by Rich Hammond, the former Baler
who was at the helm for Gilroy High during the 2006, 2007 and 2008
seasons. Hammond led the Mustangs to the Open Division championship
in 2007.
The camp will run from approximately 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. on
Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Ridgemark Tennis Club claims victories
Members of the Ridgemark Tennis Club claimed two league victories this past spring when both the ladies ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams each took first place in the Monterey Bay League.
The 10-member ladies ‘B’ team earned the title in the Monterey Bay League, surpassing 16 other ‘B’ teams in the process.
Meanwhile, the ladies ‘C’ team, which is also comprised of 10 tennis club members from Ridgemark, surpassed six other teams to take first place in the Monterey Bay League.
Matches took place between September 2009 and April 2010.
Celebrations were held for both teams at their respective Playday Luncheons, with one at the Spanish Bay Resort, and the other at Pasadera Golf and Country Club.
The 20 team members and substitute players of the Ridgemark Tennis Club look forward to another successful year of league matches commencing in September.
New members of all levels are always welcome at the Ridgemark Tennis Club.
Hole-in-one made at San Juan Oaks
Golfer Kathy Wake made a hole-in-one on Monday at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister.
The Carlsbad resident made the ace on the 77-yard 16th hole, using her 60-degree Adams Watson wedge.
Silicon Valley Glory to hold tryouts on Sunday
The Silicon Valley Glory 18 Gold showcase softball team will host fall tryouts on Sunday, July 11, at Gavilan College. Tryouts begin at 10 a.m.
All positions are needed.
