San Benito (22-8, 10-5 TCAL) defeated Notre Dame in the last matchup in Hollister for Notre Dame’s only loss of the year. The Spirits finish the regular season at 28-1 overall and 14-1 in league.
The Haybalers will find out who they play in the first round of the playoffs during the seeding meeting Saturday. They could be playing a home game May 18 or 19.
San Benito had just three runners reach base, and no one got past second.
Amy Baxter reached on an error in the second inning. Megan C. Smith and Kristen Archuleta had hits in the third and fourth innings.
Notre Dame pitcher Kim Reeder struck out 16 of the 24 batters she faced.
Amy Tompkins went 3 for 3 with a walk and a triple. Teri Ann Caoagan had a double for the Spirits.
