The San Benito softball team defeated North Salinas 4-0 on Friday.

The Haybalers (10-2, 3-0 TCAL) play at home against Salinas on Tuesday then travel to Notre Dame on Thursday to take on the only other undefeated team.

San Benito scored a run in the first inning, two in the third and one in the seventh.

Danielle Hernandez went the distance on the mound for the Balers with a four-hit shutout. It was the second consecutive 4-0 victory for San Benito.

Kristen Archuletta went 2 for 2 with a pair of triples for two runs. Megan C. Smith was 2 for 3 and also knocked in a run.

Jenny Maheu, Julie Broyer, Hillary Williams and JT Temperino also added hits.
