Hollister equals its best-ever finish at October Fest but falls
to Santa Catalina in final
Hollister – After going 2-0 on the opening day of the Hollister October Fest, the Haybalers split a pair of games on Saturday to take second place in the tournament they host.

Hollister easily defeated Terra Nova in Saturday’s opening game, setting up the final against Santa Catalina, the team that handed Hollister an 18-4 loss in the first match of the season.

This time, it was much closer.

Santa Catalina outlasted the ‘Balers in the final for a 6-4 victory but Hollister head coach Derek Kisling was pleased to see his squad equal their best finish at their own tournament.

“The girls played well over the weekend,” Kisling said. “They’re starting to play to their potential and I’m glad to see it. It’s starting to click now. We’re a young team but we’re improving. Against Santa Catalina, we were able to identify their main threats and shut them down. We weren’t able to do that in the first meeting.
