It was the largest output of the season for Christopher (1-4), and also its first win. Ryan Fredricks (3 of 4, four RBI) and Patrick Valdez produced three hits apiece as the Cougars pounded out 12 as a team.

Brian Ransom went the distance on the bump, surrendering the seven runs, although just two were earned, and had nine strikeouts.

As for the Hawks, they drop to 2-3 on the season.

Anzar connected on 11 hits and scored one run in the second, two runs in the third and four more in the fourth, but it could not keep Christopher off the scoreboard.

The Gilroy high school plated at least one run in each inning, including a six-run outburst in the fourth. The game was called in the fifth due to the 10-run rule.

The Hawks are scheduled to visit Livermore next Monday for a non-league game against Livermore Valley Charter Prep. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
