Morgan Hill – The San Benito boys water polo team lost 19-8 in a matchup Wednesday of undefeated league teams.

San Benito was down 4-1 after one, 10-3 after two and 14-5 after three.

“Live Oak is pretty stout this year,” said coach Tom Agan. “The guys played their hearts out. But when you are playing a quality team like Live Oak, you can’t afford to make mistakes. Every time we made a mistake, they would capitalize on it. It was a team effort. Everyone had mistakes.”

Ryan Gautschi had eight goals for Live Oak.

Zach Bainter had three for San Benito, Dave Smith had two, Lucas Zepeda, Ben Dietrich and Joel Smith had one each.

“We really felt the pressure today,” Agan said. “I have no doubt our guys can play with Live Oak and Stevenson if we take care of little things.”
