MMA event to return to Hollister
Just four months after Hollister hosted what was believed to be its first-ever mixed martial arts event, organizers have already announced a second go-round into the local MMA scene with War 2.
The MMA event, promoted by Central Coast Throwdown and Main Street Kickboxing, will be held May 6 at the Veterans Memorial Building, located at 649 San Benito Street in downtown Hollister.
Although an official fight card was not available at press time, the event’s flyer promotes “10 ultimate battles, 1 championship war.”
Tickets will cost $30 for the event, and can be purchased at Main Street Kickboxing in Hollister, Big Joe’s BBQ in Salinas, or at the DJ Booth in Salinas. VIP info, meanwhile, can be had by calling (831) 580-7868, or by going online to: www.ccthrowdown.com
Fights for the May 6 event will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.
War 2 comes nearly four months after even promoters held Fightin’ on the Faultline at the Veterans Memorial Building, which took place Jan. 8 and was greeted with capacity crowds.
