If you slice the ball and are looking for 25 more yards off the tee, help is just 10 feet away.

Right-handed slicers should tee off from the right side of the tee blocks and aim towards the left side of the fairway. When your slice bends toward the center of the fairway, the ball should bounce and roll forward instead of skipping sideways.

If you’re left-handed, tee off from the left side of the tee blocks. You have always had extra yards on your tee shots but the ball is rolled across the fairway instead of down in.

If your slice is so bad that you have to aim out of bounds in order to land in the fairway, it’s time to swing by Ridgemark Golf and Country Club and meet with one of our teaching professionals. We would love to help you.

Ruling Question

This past week someone asked me the definition of “casual water” in golf.In the definitions section of the rules of golf, “casual water” refers to a temporary accumulation of water on the course that is visible before or after a player takes his stance but is not in a water hazard.

Dew and frost are not casual water. A ball is in casual water when it lies in or touches the are of moisture. A player may obtain relief from casual water with no penalty strokes.

Golf Quote

During his playing career Jack Nicklaus kept reporters off guard.

“Jack, you are spectacular. Your name is synonymous with the game of golf. You really know your way around the course. What is your secret?” a reporter asked Nicklaus once.

“The holes are numbered,” Nicklaus responded.

Sunflower Seeds

Please take your sunflower seeds to the baseball games and not to the golf course. Most golf courses do not sell sunflower seeds because they are so difficult to brush off the greens.
