Babe Ruth: Last chance for Babe Ruth Baseball sign-ups will be held Thursday, Jan. 29 at Straw Hat Pizza from 6 to 8 p.m.

IOOF: Odd Fellows and Rebekahs will be having installations Saturday, Jan. 31 at Mound Lodge. Lunch will be served at noon followed by a sit-down installation. Members and their guest are welcome. Oriana Chorale: The San Benito Oriana Chorale will begin rehearsals for the spring concert season Tuesday, Jan. 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2300 Airline Hwy in Hollister at 7:15 p.m. This spring’s concert theme is “Show Stoppers.” New singers are always welcome. Red Cross: The American Red Cross will be holding an instructor training class for first aid and CPR on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 5:30 to 10:15 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 3 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. All classes must be attended in order to be certified as an instructor. CFAS Class: The American Red Cross will be holding a community first aid and safety class Saturday, Jan. 24, Saturday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 28. Tax Service: AARP Tax-Aide Program offers free personal tax counseling and preparation assistance to all taxpayers with middle and low income, with special attention to those age 60 and older. Starting Tuesday, Feb. 3, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 5:30 p.m. until Thursday, April 15 at Community Center, 300 West Street in Hollister. By appointment only, those who need held preparing their tax returns should bring the tax package they received in the mail, last years return and all relevant information on income and expense. Measure G Forum: A public forum will be held on Measure G. A panel of presenters will share their views on the growth control measure appearing on the March 2 ballot. The forum is sponsored by the San Benito Agricultural Land Trust. Italian Night: The Italian Catholic Federation will hold its annual “Night in Italy” dinner dance Saturday, Jan. 31 at Sacred Heart Church’s O’Reilly Youth Center, Sixth and College streets.

Hors d’ oeuvres and no-host cocktails will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 8 p.m. and dancing. The menu includes barbecued chicken, homemade ravioli, salad, wine and dessert. Proceeds benefit local charities.
