– The San Benito Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Lunch with
Leaders Aug. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Juan Oaks Golf
and Country Club. The guest speaker will be Hollister School
District Superintendent Gary McIntire.
Staples hosts teacher appreciation day
HOLLISTER – Staples is hosting its annual Teacher Appreciation Day Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon for Hollister educators, at 1725 Airline Hwy. The first 100 teachers will receive an Avery binder filled with paper, a pencil pouch and other supplies to assist them with their classrooms. Teachers will also have a chance to preview new products and services at Staples, such as welcome bulletin board sets, storage pocket charts and Crayola washable dry-erase crayons. Teachers can also use a special copy and print promotion throughout the back to school season of 5 cent black and white copies of classroom materials.
According to the National Education Association’s research department, 92 percent of public school teachers spend $475 on classroom materials for their students.
Teachers can also find out more about the Staples rewards program, where they can earn up to 10 percent back on teaching and art supplies.
