Starting today if you visit Cheap Seats Pub & Grub, 427 San Benito St., you’ll be sure to notice the broader menu with special offerings for kids, and dessert. That’s because they are a couple of the changes on the way with new owners Norma and Daniel Rendon, who recently bought the popular 2-year-old bar and restaurant from John and Rick Hernandez.
The Rendons, who have lived in Hollister for 13 years, purchased the business “because we always came here and drank the beer and loved the food, especially the hamburgers,” Norma Rendon told The Pinnacle. She noted how they especially enjoyed it because they could bring their kids, watch TV and drink for a “cheap” price. Aside from the menu changes, the Rendons after Easter plan to repaint the walls with San Benito High School colors – red, white and black – while also decorating a wall with local sports jerseys and memorabilia.
