HOPE Services has announced the appointment of John M. Christensen as the organization’s new chief executive officer, effective July 1. He served as senior vice president and chief operating officer for the past 13 years.

The nonprofit, with an office in downtown Hollister on the 600 block of San Benito St., has a budget of nearly $40 million and serves 2,500 people with development disabilities annually.

Christensen holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation administration from the University of San Francisco. He has served on numerous boards of directors, including his current role as secretary of the Nonprofit Insurance Alliance of California.

“Heading into our 60th anniversary next year, HOPE Services is a very strong organization with high-quality programs and staff,” he said in a press release.
