Clearspot getting close to solar launch at sewer plant
Clearspot Energy, the company hired by the City of Hollister to
provide power at the wastewaster plant, is getting close to going
online with the program, officials announced this week.
The news came out at this week’s Hollister City Council meeting,
where officials discussed a time frame of four to six weeks before
the 5,040 solar panels are operational. Clearspot and the city last
year came to terms on a 30-year agreement, during which the firm
expects to save the city up to $10 million in power costs. It will
operate at a peak of 1.2 megawatts, with 14 modules and a
transformer that can handle up to 21,000 volts.
Clearspot also is making progress, meanwhile, on its deal with
the Hollister School District while they go through the permitting
process, city officials reported.
