“The next time you are backed up on 101 to come to Hollister or bumper to bumper on Bolsa Road, standing in the line at the Post Office or the DMV, driving on deteriorated streets in the City of Hollister and cursing the potholes, feeling like your child’s classroom is too crowded, thinking how there is nothing to do here, remember your vote on Measure G and when the county seats a pro-growth majority and building starts up no complaining because you sealed your own fate with the failure of Measure G. This assumption that county residents do not impact the city jurisdiction is ridiculous. They drive on the same streets, their kids go to the same schools, we all use the post office and the DMV, we utilize the same doctors, hospital…. We shop at the same stores, well some of us anyway. There is no magic line when it comes to jurisdiction infrastructure. So if you think what goes on in the county doesn’t affect the city think about it some more as you wait in line.”

“A witness reports that Scagliotti has stated during a restaurant meeting that he has eight months left in office and to screw those that went against him on Measure G. More ordinances than you would imagine are going to be implemented. Is this his final act of vengeance? I doubt it. In fact, I imagine that he has already met with Planning Department Director and fellow LAFCO member Rob Mendiola and Waste Management Director Normandy Rose to implement such a plan. We’ll probably see a River Ordinance, a Dark Sky Ordinance, a Ridgeline Ordinance and at least a few more controlling ordinances. Attend County Planning Commission meetings for the updates. Meetings are the first and third Wednesday of each month beginning at 7 p.m. at the Supervisors’ chambers.”
