Thanks to Erin Musgrave for the article about the 2003-04 county
budget. It raises more questions for which I hope she will further
investigate.
The Board of Supervisors increased the proposed budget from
$64.2 million to $65.8 million by eliminating the allotment to the
reserve fund. The reserve fund has always been held for
emergencies. Is there still only $1 million in the reserve fund as
stated in the Free Lance article of Aug. 21?
“Thanks to Erin Musgrave for the article about the 2003-04 county budget. It raises more questions for which I hope she will further investigate.

The Board of Supervisors increased the proposed budget from $64.2 million to $65.8 million by eliminating the allotment to the reserve fund. The reserve fund has always been held for emergencies. Is there still only $1 million in the reserve fund as stated in the Free Lance article of Aug. 21?

Ms. Musgrave’s article of Wednesday, Sept. 24 does not address the question of what happened to the $7 million that was held in the reserve fund from 2002-03 according to the Grand Jury Report. I am not aware of any major emergencies that have occurred in the past year that the Board may have needed to draw from this reserve fund. Would not it have been more prudent of the Board of Supervisors to have made deeper cuts on spending and maintain a reserve for emergencies? At this time, there has been no indication as to what the county reserve consists of.

If these questions cannot or will not be answered, then a suggestion should be made that an outside audit of the county should be conducted to see what happened to $7 million.

Thank you Free Lance for giving this format to speak and I hope you hold to you rules of confidentiality.”

“After listening to the debate, one thing is clear. Huffington for governor.

For the past century, California has been led to destruction by Democratic and Republican men. Since 99 percent of men don’t handle the household budget or make household decisions, why would anyone want to put another male in Sacramento? DAH!

Huffington takes no campaign contributions from anyone. She will take on anybody any given day or time over any issue. She is a breath of fresh air. She is confident and direct. She will run California effectively, efficiently and frugally. Schwarzenegger is an insecure, obnoxious, rude, self-serving ass. He can’t even think on his feet. If voters don’t vote Huffington on Oct. 7, California will be no better off after the recall than it is today.”

“Well, what do you know: The cannery is not going to pay their bill. We told people that before – that they were just using them while the season was still in full swing. They played the city like a fiddle. They really enjoy sitting them back and now they’re saying, ‘We’re not going to pay you. We don’t owe you nothing.'”

“I’ve heard that the bureaucrats at the local water agency want to institute a study to start fluoridation of our drinking water. This is an outrage!

Placing dangerous chemicals into our drinking water in order to promote the United Nation’s social welfare programs is an affront to our American sovereignty.

Just say ‘NO’ to the UN agenda and get us OUT. I say NO to toxic chemicals in our drinking water!”
