City Hall

HOLLISTER

The City of Hollister is seeking applications for a parks and recreation commissioner opening. The position is open due to the removal of Don Kelley from the commission.

Kelley had served on the commission since 2000 and in 2007 was asked to serve in the same role with the county’s panel. He was asked to leave the position with the city because, officials contended, his serving in both capacities created a conflict of interest.

City Clerk Geri Johnson said there is not a rush to fill the position because the commission still has enough votes for a quorum, but the city would like to have a full commission soon.

She said that once the city has received the applications, they will be presented to the city council.
