Campaign expenditure reports show that incumbent District 5 Supervisor Jaime De La Cruz spent the most money during the latest reporting period, while one of three District 1 candidates, Margie Barrios, has raised the most funds among the seven citizens running for open supervisorial seats.

The Form 460 documents candidates have submitted include each candidate’s list of donors and expenses, as well as a breakdown of dollars received and spent from Jan. 1 to March 17.

The following is the breakdown among San Benito County candidates in districts 1, 2 and 5. The next filing date for candidates is May 22.

It will cover March 18 through March 17.

District 1

â–  Barrios received contributions of $10,937. Her total expenditures were $2,389. And her ending balance was $8,069.

Barrios lent her campaign $1,596.

â–  Bonnie Flores-Voropaeff had $0 in contributions listed. Her expenditures were $890. A $771 filing fee has been the only listed item on Flores-Voropaeff’s spending list.

â–  Grant Brians has not reached the $1,000 limit to file a Form 460.

District 2

â–  Anthony Botelho had contributions of $10,199. His total expenditures were $2,000. And he had an ending balance of $8,199. Botelho had spent $2,000 on a campaign consultant, and no other information had been recorded.

â–  Anthony Freitas had contributions received of $1,000. His total expenditures were $866. And he had an ending balance of $134. Freitas lent his campaign $1,000.

District 5

â–  De La Cruz had total contributions of $8,551. Expenditures were $13,049.80. And he had an ending balance $10,642. De La Cruz had $5,761 in his account prior to the Jan. 1 start date.

â–  Marian Cruz had received $2,674. Her total expenditures were $1,875. And Cruz’s ending balance was $749. She lent herself $950.
