The Dollar Tree, Larry's Liquors and Neighborhood Pizza burned down in this December 2013 fire.

Bargain shoppers can rest easy: Dollar Tree has plans to return to its former location in Hollister and expand.
A December 2013 fire destroyed the building that housed Dollar Tree, Larry’s Liquors and Neighborhood Pizza. Permitting and construction work have been under way at the 550 Tres Pinos Road site in recent months.
Dollar Tree has received a site and architectural review approval for an expansion at the 550 Tres Pinos Road location, while it is unclear what other tenants may use the same building, said Jill Morales, assistant planner for the city. It was also unclear immediately how much space the Dollar Tree store planned to use at the 13,400-square-foot site, but it will be an expansion of the previous version, Morales said.
As Dollar Tree awaits completion of the building work there, it appears that Grocery Outlet at some point is moving into the neighboring location currently occupied by Goodwill and Hi Outlet at 550 Tres Pinos Road. Emeryville-based Grocery Outlet has pulled a liquor license for the 550 Tres Pinos Road location, although there is no other information immediately available on specific plans for the site.
In yet more commercial retail news, Ace Hardware is continuing tenant improvements to move into the former Staples location on Airline Highway.
