Dear Editor,

I take issue with The Pinnacle’s recent editorial opinion of our newly county governing authority. The title “An inauspicious beginning” directly implies that The Pinnacle is not favorable to the recent organizational action of this new board.

Aside from some of the past and present political positions of the Board of Supervisors, it might serve the public well if they changed their biased reporting to constructively report the news rather than make the news. If their expertise is forecasting political actions of our new board, maybe they could better serve the people of the county by forecasting the local weather conditions rather than political growth issues.

It is unfortunate that their “journalist pulpit” has already proclaimed how some members of the new board will govern with their questionable political agendas.

Don’t pre-judge! Let the newly elected authority perform its governing responsibilities. Remember, we are in the same church, but in a different pew!

The Pinnacle’s comment about the “fox guarding the hen house” brings to mind the phrase “you can bring a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.” Don’t feed me that journalistic B.S.!

We elected responsible individuals to the Board of Supervisors to collectively serve the people of San Benito County to the best of their God given ability, not to serve the proclamations of The Pinnacle newspaper.

They would best serve their readership if their perception of the glass was half-full rather than half-empty.

Happy New Year!
