All of Highway 152 will be closed until 4 p.m. today due to a downed tree near Pole Line Road, close to Mt. Madonna Inn Restaurant, according to California Highway Patrol.

Two cars crashed into what CHP Officer Jaime Rios described as a “fair-sized tree” tree at around 5 a.m. this morning. The CHP says only one driver sustained minor injuries.

Rios said the downed tree is also holding up two other trees, so Caltrans, which is currently working on clearing the area, will have to remove all three.

For commuters who normally utilize Highway 152, Rios said the nearest alternate route is Highway 120, which takes drivers to Watsonville and Highway 1.

For people traveling from San Jose, Rios suggested a detour of Highway 17, which leads to Santa Cruz.

Updates on the car crashes will be available soon.
