One of two newly resurfaced baseball fields at Dunne Park is shown.

Dunne Park is the latest park in Hollister with upgrades, including resurfaced tennis courts and baseball fields.
City workers in recent weeks laid new dirt on the two baseball fields across from the main section of the park. That came after crews resurfaced and spruced up the tennis courts. The cost is not totaled yet on the Dunne Park work, Community Services Director Mike Chambless said.
In early December, council members allocated $140,000 in park funds toward new playground equipment at Las Brisas, Park Hill and Jerry Gabe Memorial parks so the city would be eligible for grant money from a manufacturer company. The city has installed the equipment at Las Brisas Park and the airport.
In February, council members unanimously approved spending $150,000 to improve Valley View Park, and that equipment has been installed. Officials also have targeted Calaveras Park for improvements.
