Editor,

Kudos to Robyn Grannis for informing us about the shady tactics that are being used to recall John Sarsfield. Had I not read her letter, I might have been suckered into signing a petition for a recall that I am very much against.

I was approached by a woman with this petition at Nob Hill, and thanks to Robyn’s letter, I was able to cut her off immediately. This ridiculous recall is a waste of taxpayers’ money as well as a huge waste of time. Furthermore, if these people don’t have the guts to be honest about what the petition is for because they didn’t get enough signatures the first time, they should not be out there petitioning.

Their tactics are not only shady, they’re also illegal. California Election Code 18600(a) clearly states it is a misdemeanor violation to misrepresent a petition.

We all want to stop corruption, but it won’t be stopped by signing a shady petition written by and represented by shady people. Enough already!
