If you want to play better golf you have to learn what you need
to do better to swing the club and strike the ball better. Let’s
say you have taken lessons and found out what you needed, worked on
it and now you can strike the ball better during your practice
sessions. Before you take it to the course, you need to be clear
and confident that you have made the change and are making the
swing you have worked to build.

This is the point where now it is time to take it to the course.
This is also the time that most people don’t make the right approach with their improved swing. Most people will stand over a shot and worry that their ball will not go where the want it to go. Do you know what your “job” isn’t on the course? It isn’t to worry about the results.
Your only “job” on the course is, here it comes, to make the best swing you can. That’s it. Think about it, the only control you have – really have – is how you swing at the ball.
The better swing you make, the better your odds are that your ball will end up where you want it. I guarantee you that Tiger Woods never stands over a shot with OB on the right and a lake on the left and thinks about making a swing that won’t go into either of them, he is just going to step up and make the best swing he can, if he doesn’t and worries about them he wouldn’t be the Tiger that he is. So the next time you are on the course just give yourself just one “job” to do, it can make it a lot more fun.
