It’s all about balance
The real secret to good golf is balance. Without it, your body
will tighten up and slow down your swing. Here is a little test you
can do to feel what I mean. Stand up put your feet together, feel
how you are relaxed and in balance. Now start leaning backwards,
notice as you go out of balance how your stomach and legs tighten
up. Your body is trying to keep you from falling over. That is how
you lose distance during your swing when you go out of balance.
Good golf is all about counter balancing your body during the
swing. When you are at balance, your body bends forward at the
waist and your seat is sticking out. The reason it is sticking out
is to counter balance your head (which weighs about 20 pounds).
Think about a tug-of-war when you dig in your feet, stick out your
seat, lean forward and pull, leveraging against the ground.

Did you know your arms weigh between 20 to 30 pounds? So as you take the club back that weight plus the club are pulling you out of balance. You need a counter balance and that counter balance is you left hip (right handed golfer). It needs to stay over your left foot to keep you centered, over the ball and in balance. Then as you begin the forward swing and your arms move down and forward your hips rotate behind you and keep you in balance. A good drill to perfect this is to take a position, back up your right leg and balance over the left. Now start swinging back and forth. When you can do this you are in perfect balance.
You will find as you swing back your hip will move to the left to keep you balanced. As you swing forward your hips will rotate to counter balance your arms that are moving to the left. Once you have mastered this you will have incredible balanced. Keep that feeling in mind and during your real swing it feels Tigerlike. Play well.
