The cab commemorates Morgan Hill’s centennial celebration
At midnight on Jan. 1, 2006, Guglielmo Family Winery will
release a special limited bottling to commemorate the year-long
Centennial celebration of the City of Morgan Hill and benefit local
charities.
The bottling will include 100 Jeroboam-sized bottles, with the
history of Morgan Hill silk-screened in gold. The wine will be a
special 2003 Santa Clara Valley cabernet sauvignon that the
Guglielmo Winery has reserved for the occasion. A Jeroboam, also
known as a double magnum, holds the equivalent of four standard
size bottles.

The Centennial Morgan Hill Committee will make the limited edition bottles available at cost to local charities, which can in turn sell or auction them to raise charitable dollars for their own programs. Charities may apply by calling (408) 778-8305.
“We are very grateful to the Guglielmo family for this commemorative salute, typical of their winery’s generosity to the community for the past 80 years,” said Jennifer Tate, chair, Centennial Morgan Hill Committee.
The wine bottle will be unveiled at midnight at the Centennial’s opening celebration, “Club 1906” on New Year’s Eve at the Morgan Hill Community Center. Tickets and details are available at www.mhcentennial.org or at (408) 778-8305.
The winery also plans to produce 12 commemorative glass-etched, Methusalem-sized bottles, which hold the equivalent of 8 standard bottles. The giant Centennial bottles will also benefit charities, with details to be announced in the future.
The winery will also release a Centennial Morgan Hill standard-size bottle through restaurants, retail outlets and at the winery. The label will feature the Centennial’s official artwork, a painting of downtown Morgan Hill at First St., looking toward El Toro. A significant portion of all the sale of each bottle will go directly to the Centennial Morgan Hill Committee and the Morgan Hill Community Foundation.
Centennial Morgan Hill is a year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of the city’s incorporation in 1906.
The Guglielmo Winery has been producing wine in Morgan Hill since 1925. Today, the family’s third generation brothers, George E., Gene and Gary, are operating the winery.
