Kurtis Pedrazzi once again excelled against 13 other gymnastics in Class 6 (11+ age division).

Placing third All Around (51.45), Pedrazzi brought home a first on vault (8.9), a second on the parallel bars (9.0), a third on the rings (9.2), a third on the horizontal bar (8.95), a fifth on the pommel (8.1) and a fifth on the floor.

In competition against 20 other gymnasts in Class 6 (9-10 age division), Vanya Avilla placed third on vault (8.65), sixth on floor (8.1) and ninth on the horizontal bar (8.7).

Gabriel Hatcher, Class 6 (6-8 age division), placed seventh on the horizontal bar (8.5), eighth on the floor (8.0) and eighth on the pommel against 15 other gymnasts.

Class 7 gymnasts (10+ age division) also competed but not for individual awards. Darren Coates placed seventh All Around (52.6), scoring 9.15 on the pommel (third place), 9.25 on the rings and 9.0 on the horizontal bar (fourth place).

Kyle Brown (8-9 age division) placed 10th All Around (52.9), scoring 9.05 on pommel, 9.4 on the rings, 9.35 on the parallel bars and 9.1 on the horizontal bar.

The team will be competing in the Concord Cup on Saturday.

In their fifth ever USA Gymnastics competition, Level 4 gymnasts from Hollister and Gilroy continued to excel and earn awards at Almaden’s Gymfest in Paris on Feb. 21.

In a tough competition of 24 girls ages 9-15, USA Sport Connection gymnasts brought home awards on all four apparatuses.

In the tight-scoring vault competition, Alysia Brown earned a fourth place (8.9); Jessica Meade,12, earned a 10th place (8.7); Jessica Frey,12, earned a 12th place (8.65) and Lise Avilla, 9, earned a 13th place (8.6).

Both Brown and Avilla tied for ninth place with a good execution of their floor exercise (8.1).

On the balance beam, Frey took high honors with a second-place medal (9.05). Awards were also earned by Avilla, with a 10th place (8.6) and Meade, with a 12th place (8.5).

Brown placed seventh on the uneven bars. Meade placing ninth and Frey placed 12th.

Competing against 20 other gymnasts, Jacquelynn Fisher, 8, earned a third-place medal with her well-executed vault (9.15). In a tight vaulting competition, Emily Rianda, 8, placed 13th (8.7) and Taylor Fisher, 8, placed fourteenth (8.6).

Rianda also brought home a fourth place on the uneven bars and a 13th place on the balance beam (8.2).

The USA Sport Connection gymnasts will be competing in the Concord Cup on Sunday and at Twister’s on March 6.
