Chas Armour stayed hot and so did the Anzar High boys basketball team, which shocked Greenfield 60-56 in overtime Wednesday night at home.

Armour poured in 25 points, which followed his 21-point night in the Hawks’ win over Gonzales last Thursday and a 20-point effort in a loss to Soledad on Saturday.

Armour has been warming it up after a tepid preseason in which the Hawks went 3-7.

Cheyenne Monte had 10 points while Jordan Monroe and Jesus Perez had nine and eight, respectively.

Anzar is 2-2 in the Mission Trail Athletic League, which gives Dietz hope for a possible Central Coast Section berth. The Hawks must go at least 7-7 in league to qualify.

“If we can steal one at RLS on Friday, that would be big,” said Dietz. “We have two tough teams after that in King City and Pacific Grove.”
