Anzar improves to 4-0-2 in CAL
MONTEREY

Seven goals. Seven different scorers.

The Anzar High girls soccer team rebounded from Tuesday’s 1-1 tie at York and easily disposed of Calvary Christian 7-0 Thursday in Monterey.

Playing at York School, the Hawks took a 4-0 lead to the break, emptied the bench, and continued to put three more scores up in the second half.

Anzar is now 4-0-2 in the Coastal Athletic League, 4-3-3 overall.

Lauren Bellone scored her fourth goal in the last three games in the 2nd minute, and supplied the Hawks with enough offensive production to secure the win.

Anzar head coach Albert Flores switched the majority of his defense to forward positions in the second half. Up 4-0, Jen Gross and Alex Flores (both defenders) and Erin Deleissegues (keeper) each pocketed a score en route to the 7-0 win.

The Hawks will visit Pacific Collegiate next Friday at 3:30 p.m.
