Volleyball: Anzar looks to rebound from tough 2013 season

The Anzar girls volleyball team moved a game above .500 in the Mission Trail Athletic League when they handled a visiting Stevenson squad Tuesday night in San Juan Bautista.

The Hawks swept the Pirates in three games (25-21, 25-13, 25-22) to improve to 4-3 in the MTAL, 11-8 overall.

Erin Deleissegues delivered 10 kills, 24 digs and a pair of service aces in the victory, while Anzar had strong support from their middles in the win.

Camille Merz had five kills out of 10 attempts and a block, Nicki Seymour was 4 of 4 in kills and added a block, and Chelsea Woods contributed two kills in three attempts and one block.

The Hawks will host King City tonight, Thursday, in San Juan Bautista at 6 p.m.
