Trumpet players David Bergen and Bernadette Von Bargon saxophonist Sean O’Gorman, trumpet player Ciera Cavanaugh and tuba player Brett Pirtle are the five Hollister School District students chosen for the CCS Honor Band. The quintet performed along with other middle school musicians from Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Luis Obispo counties in the annual Honor Band concert March 8 in Watsonville.
Bergen and O’Gorman are seventh-graders at Rancho San Justo Middle School, where Pirtle is an eighth-grader. Cavanaugh is in eighth grade at Marguerite Maze Middle School and Von Bargon is a sixth-grader at Ladd Lane School.
