Union on Tuesday night in Castroville.

Jordan Belton scored a game-high 21 points, freshman Hiram Miskin had a breakout performance with 18 points, and the San Benito boys basketball team advanced to the championship game of the Condor Christmas Classic with a 76-50 victory over Anderson Union on Tuesday night in Castroville.

It is the third straight win for the Balers (4-6), who will now square off against league foe Salinas on Wednesday night in the tournament championship at North Monterey County High School.

Tip-off is 5 p.m.

The Cowboys handled Seaside on Wednesday by a 69-46 margin in Castroville to improve to 10-1 on the season. Meanwhile, San Benito delivered one of its best offensive performances of the season against Anderson Union (6-7), which is located just south of Redding.

Controlling a 21-14 lead after one quarter and a 36-21 lead at halftime, the Balers were anchored by the efficient output of Belton and Miskin, who finished 7 of 8 from the field, including a 4 of 5 performance from behind the arc.

“We shot quite well,” San Benito head coach Tracy Carpenter said of the Balers, who were 21 of 45 from 2-point range, 8 of 19 from 3-point range on Wednesday night.

San Benito had 12 different scorers in the game, including eight points from Cooper Sepulveda and seven points from Eric Elayda.

Kameron Nuss led Anderson Union with 19 points.

Note:

San Benito added a game to its regular season schedule. The Balers will host Gilroy’s Christopher High on Friday at 1 p.m. at Hollister’s Mattson Gym.
