The Soledad Aztecs scored 26 points in the second quarter and never looked back en route to a 61-27 victory over the Anzar girls basketball team on Thursday night in San Juan Bautista.
Anzar’s Kelsey Robledo had 18 points behind an 8 of 12 performance from the free throw line, while Melissa Weckerle added seven points.
The Hawks fall to 2-6 overall.
“We had a lot of turnovers,” Anzar head coach Mike Bonomi said.
Soledad led 13-6 after one quarter and 39-14 at halftime.
“The other team was just getting a lot of outside shots,” Bonomi said.
The Hawks will return to the court on Dec. 29 when they will play at Soledad.
