Mathew Jacobs, 21, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on July 22 for an alleged rape that occurred July 21.

The victim reported that she was sexually assaulted at a residence in Hollister. Detectives allege that the suspect sought the victim on two separate social networking websites: Facebook and My Yearbook. The victim reported that she met Jacobs on July 21 and he sexually assaulted her.

Detectives arrested Jacobs at his residence and served a search warrant on July 22, at 7 p.m. He was booked into San Benito County Jail on the charge of rape. The bail was set at $50,000.
