DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Michael Everett Chase, 35, who lives on the 7500 block of Langley Canyon in Salinas, was arrested on by the California Highway Patrol on Highway 101 heading southbound, north of the Betabel overpass at 4:13 a.m. Wednesday.

USE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Leslie Marie Fort, 46, who resides at 561 Fifth St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for being under the influence of methamphetamines, a misdemeanor, at 7:45 p.m. when her landlord reported loud screaming and yelling at her residence Wednesday.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Hollister resident Paul Ruiz, 38, of 549 South St., was arrested by Hollister police at 10:25 p.m. for drunk driving, a misdemeanor, possession of crystal methamphetamine, a felony, and violation of parole for a former drug offense, a felony, at 500 Hillcrest Road on Wednesday.

BURGLARY: Hollister resident Laureen Curiel had a VCR and video games paraphernalia stolen out of a small building located behind her home on 1042 San Benito St. at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday. Hollister police discovered burglar(s) had broken a window pane on the front door and broken the front door lock.

ASSAULT: Two male juveniles were assaulted by two male juvenile Norteno gang members while walking up Buena Vista Road at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday. The victims do not appear to be in a gang. No one has been arrested and Hollister police are still investigating.
