Economic development office moves

HOLLISTER – Hollister’s economic development office recently moved from its temporary quarters in the Veterans Memorial Building.

The office now is located in the Porter House, a Victorian located at 550 Monterey St., at the intersection of Monterey and Sixth streets. The office can be reached at 630-5103.

HDOG holds inaugural meeting

HOLLISTER – The Hollister Dog Owners Group will hold a membership meeting Wednesday, July 30 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the San Benito County Free Library, 470 Fifth St. Anyone interested in joining the group is invited to attend. For more information, go to www.HollisterDOG.org.

Art school opens

SAN JUAN BAUTISTA – Registration for the adult summer session of the 2008 Master Artist classes is now under way. Participants can learn drawing, cartooning, printmaking, watercolor and more with a master artist in a working studio. Some of the artists students can learn from include Bruce Kleinsmith, an internationally known cartoonist with credits such as Rolling Stone magazine; John Robrock, master artist and River of Words educator of the year; master artist Jennifer Colby; and master artist Michele Faia, author of “Art in My Heart: The Power of Watercolor Mandala Making.”

Prices and times vary depending on course selection. Students of all ability levels are welcome. Weekday two- and four-hour classes as well as Saturday classes are available.
