Editor,

The Income Tax is a sick joke. Think of all the hours we spend filling it out just so the government can peek and poke into our most intimate financial details.

Let’s get rid of all deductions and report only our gross amount. Our tax would then be a percentage of our gross. If a person made less then $20,000, his or her income tax might be 5 percent or $1,000. If a person made $1,000,000, the tax might be 40 percent, or $400,000. If a person lied about the total amount they made, their tax would be doubled.

Our present income tax system takes too much time and effort, time which we could better spend increasing our gross income.
