Donna “Nature Girl” Biggers’ nickname may have nothing to do with gardening, but if she keeps fighting the way she did against Kelsey”The Road Warrior” Jeffries she’ll be pushing up daisies.

Jeffries dismantled the bigger fighter with pinpoint punching and a non-stop motor Monday night at Pechanga Resort & Casino, retaining her 126 lb. IBFA Featherweight World Title by unanimous decision.

All three cards were in Jeffries’ favor, 100-90. She was unavailable for comment after the fight.

Despite being 10-15 pounds lighter than her adversary, according to manager Bruce Anderson, The Road Warrior lived up to her name as she had little trouble controlling the fight and gaining the support of an unfamiliar Temecula crowd.

“Kelsey was cooking,” Anderson said. “She was happy. She stole the house. The place went nuts.”

The bout marked the sixth consecutive time Jeffries (38-9-1) has defended her crown.

“In the middle rounds, the crowd was in awe of her skill,” Anderson said. “Her combination punching, making her miss, making her pay and her hand speed – it was all unbelievable.”

While Biggers (18-5-1) tried to stand up to the quick barrage of punches landing on her jaw and ribs, the fight wore her down, eventually forcing her to run scared.

“The girl tried to run in the last rounds, but Kelsey hunted her down,” Anderson said.

Anderson said that Jeffries will be returning to Gilroy in time for Fourth of July festivities, and will be taking place in a post-fight routine they’ve established.

“We have a kind of ritual we do. We just go shopping. And we’ll probably go to Chevy’s and kill one, or two (drinks).”
