No. 4 San Benito will open the CCS playoffs against No. 5
Piedmont Hills; Salinas earned top seed
SAN JOSE

On Saturday, the San Benito Lady ‘Balers earned the No. 4 seed for the Central Coast Section Girls Volleyball Championships – Division I, slated to begin next week.

San Benito, at 13-21 overall, will face No. 5 Piedmont Hills (16-10) in the quarterfinal round on Saturday, Nov 15, although no location or time has been announced.

The pigtail match will be between No. 8 Silver Creek (15-15) and No. 9 Oak Grove (22-13) to open the tournament on Wednesday, with the winner advancing to play No. 1 Salinas (21-7) the following Saturday.

If San Benito defeated Piedmont Hills next Saturday, it would advance to play the winner of the Salinas v. Silver Creek/Oak Grove match-up on Thursday, Nov. 20 at Watsonville High.

Homestead, at 24-8, was awarded the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 Milpitas (14-18), while No. 3 Evergreen Valley (21-9) and No. 6 Monta Vista (18-12) will square off in the other match.

The championship final will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Independence High School in San Jose.
