Thanks for highlighting upcoming event
Just a note to thank you for your coverage of Standing in the Gap Now and the Charity Golf Classic. It was a shot in the arm to continue on with the efforts that are being made to help the youth of Hollister.
Melissa was very thorough and gracious in her efforts to get all the facts – a special thanks to her as well.
The beneficiaries of the golf tournament on Aug. 28 will ultimately be for the Hollister community, which encourages us greatly. Local businesses are stepping up with donations and sponsorships, and receiving recognition, advertisement and some well-deserved tax breaks.
The Emmaus House, a shelter for battered women, will receive 25 percent of proceeds along with the Compassion Pregnancy Center, a safe option for women. Standing in the Gap Now will receive the remainder as seed money to be that support net between the community, the schools and the parents.
Thank you again for your diligence and sacrifice in covering the goings on in Hollister. You are making a difference.
