Thanks to those who helped with 9/11 ceremony
Central Coast Dove Releases would like to thank the following
people who helped with a 9/11 dove release ceremony: Boy Scout
leader Mel Tolentino, Boy Scout Kyle Tolentino and Cub Scout Chad
Tolentino for their participation of leading us in a pledge of
allegiance and assisting with the release of the doves; to Ernie
Persich, Hugh Bikle and Andreas Hotea for the honor of a
three-point flyover from Vintage Wings and Wheels; and to the
Hollister Fire Department and Station 2 for allowing us to release
the doves at their station. Thank you to all.
An apology for not having the address and time of the 9/11
release in the article last week. It was not my intent to make the
location of the memorial a secret. The location and time simply did
not get put in the article by mistake. Next year the event will be
advertised in advance as to the time and place so that everyone can
attend. My apologies.

Veteran asks for peace on Sept. 11 anniversary

We’ll always remember 9/11; the war is over, peace now. Twenty six-year-old Landon Bishop, an Iraq war veteran, says too much needs to happen inside our own country. His friends need jobs, housing, good schools and opportunity. He feels lucky because the bullet that flashed through his abdomen and exited his back missed his spinal cord. He could easily have been paralyzed.

He proudly wears his uniform colored with ribbons, badges and insignia. One of his medals acknowledges his heroism for saving the life of an Iraqi child. He has performed his mission.

Now is the time for peace. Our country needs to stay home and take car of its own. Landon paid a high price for peace to happen. Now is the time. This is his remembrance of 9/11.
