Parents Showed All-Star Attitude at Every Tournament
Parents Showed All-Star Attitude at Every Tournament

Editor,

I am a parent that has been involved with Hollister Little League for many years now, both in league play and all-star play. Recently, I followed our American 9/10 All-Stars all the way to their winning the State Championship.

I want to say congratulations to all the players and coaches, but most of all I write to congratulate the players’ PARENTS for truly paving the way for the players to play the game and for the coaches to coach their kids to this state championship.

I sat and watched every game from the first district game against our own National team all the way to the last state championship game. Not once did I hear a parent complain about playing time, positions their kids were playing, or anything negative, for that matter. In fact, I have never seen a group of parents more sincere about cheering for all the kids and not just their own. They sat together like one happy family and just cheered and cheered the entire way.

These parents should be proud and from the eyes of a parent who in the past has seen all the second guessing, the negative banter which can fill the stands and all the sideline coaching that occurs in most of these types of events, it is the PARENTS who were The Key To Success in this 9/10 All-Stars team’s courageous play and accomplishments. It is with their unconditional support that both the players and coaches were able to do their thing without any distractions, which allowed them to reach their full potential.

Kudos to each and every parent involved. A class performance to say the least.

And, to players Robert Soto, Daniel Gonzales, Josh George, Cody Cameron, Cody Asp, Conner Fabing, Marcos Perez, Maverick Enz, Jordan Lopes, Dylan Yamasaki, Austin Wahl, Tony Diaz and coaches Robert Fabing, Rod George, Al Lopes, Frank Soto, CR Gonzalez and Eric Yamasaki, great job to all of you. Keep up the hard work and I hope to see you repeat it all again two years from now.

A Great Location for Movies

Editor,

Read ‘On Location’ in San Benito County. A month or so ago one of the TV stations had a short of a movie starring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin about how it was done. Now and then.

They also wanted to know of other movie locations.

Seems good PR. What is the Chamber of Commerce doing about it? Less “The Wild Ones” and more “East of Eden,” “Vertigo,” or “La Bamba.”
