Free Lance’s Crimson Crusader Helped Get the Job Done
Editor,
The Crimson Crusader deserves a special thank you for investigating into our problem.
We called the Free Lance’s Red Phone last month.
Work crews had started cleaning up and trimming shrubs on Sunnyslope Road. But after starting the job, they then disappeared for several days.
After the Crimson Crusader took up our case, the crews returned. They worked all day and did a good job.
We always read your column and we appreciate very much how the Red Phone has helped the people of Hollister.

Adult Literacy Program Story Resulted in Capacity Crowd
Editor,
Kudos to Alice Joy for the article on the adult literacy program (“SBC Free Library Launches Adult Literacy Program,” Jan. 24).
As coordinator of the program, I want you to know that the article resulted in a capacity crowd of tutors for the training workshop on Jan. 24.
Now I have a waiting list of both tutors and learners for the next planned training session.
This kind of community response means a great deal to the success of this program.
Thank you.
