Together, We Should Be Able to Solve All Our Problems

Editor,

Now that the election is over, the signs that have been set around asking for your votes are disappearing. It was a big victory for the Democrats, especially in Washington. I’d rather see Congress on one side and the House on the other. Competition makes a better government. Republicans have had control over both for too long.

For the country’s sake I hope the Democrats have a plan. There is so much room for improvement. In our area, many people didn’t even bother to vote. Disappointed with negative ads. There are others like us, who for the same reason, changed their votes. People did a good job with reading between the lines. As had happened at the last election.

Certain behaviors are not acceptable. Many people still look for morals. Nobody is perfect, but there is only so much you can get away with. It is sad to see brilliant young people who could have been successful with simple words let themselves fall for one bad decision. This county is thirsty for young intelligent people to get involved. We usually spoil it before they are mature.

In District 4, it was a close race. Congratulations Reb (Monaco). Now you are free to go work. I would also like to congratulate Tracie Cone for running a good campaign.

Congratulations to all the winners and better luck if there is a next time to the losers. We are glad this thing is over. Great country. We still got through this without shooting one another. I feel the county ended up with a good government. A board that seems united. Intelligent county administrator, county council, good planning commissioners. All heads of department seem under control and doing well. To succeed, we just need leadership and common sense.

Together, with this government, the county should be able to solve our most important problems. good luck to all. God bless San Benito County. I have to add, this is only my opinion.
