A driver involved in a two-car accident Sunday on Highway 25 fled the scene, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.

No injuries were reported, but the driver of a Dodge Intrepid fled immediately after the incident and is wanted by authorities, said CHP spokesman Chris Armstrong.

The accident occurred Sunday afternoon at Highway 25 and Wright Road.

The driver of the Dodge was headed north on Highway 25 and attempted to make an unsafe left turn onto Wright Road, Armstrong said. The driver of a Honda Accord who had been headed south was unable to stop and crashed head-on into the Dodge. The impact sent the Dodge into an embankment along Highway 25 and the Honda 50 feet into a nearby crop field, according to the CHP.

Armstrong said the driver of the Dodge is reported to be a Hispanic male who ran away as soon as the cars came to rest.

Anyone with information on the incident should call the CHP at (408) 848-2324.
