The Hollister Police Department issued a press release Friday that invited the community to come out to the annual National Night Out event.

The free event will be held Tuesday, August 1 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in front of the Veterans’ Memorial Building.

Law enforcement agencies across the country participate in National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes partnerships between police and the community. The event offers an opportunity to bring law enforcement and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

According to a police department press release dated July 28, representatives from HPD, Hollister Police Animal Care and Services, Hollister Fire Department, San Benito County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, San Benito County Search and Rescue, and the San Benito County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be at the local event.

Other public service groups and community organizations will attend the event as well, the press release said. Emergency response vehicles will be on display along with music and a jump house. Attendees can view exhibits, obtain information about various local services and more.

“We encourage our community to stop by and meet representatives from their local law enforcement and community organizations,” the press release said.”
