The state has committed to funding new stop lights for $300,000 at the intersection of Fairview and Santa Ana roads, the public works director announced last week.

San Benito County will receive a hazardous elimination grant to install the stop lights at the intersection, Public Works Administrator Steve Wittry announced at last week’s board of supervisors meeting.

There was no time frame specified for the project.

Fairview Road in recent years has been a focus for such traffic improvements, with stop lights installed at the intersection of Sunnyslope Road and caution lights installed at the intersection of Airline Highway.
