California Highway Patrol officers in Monterey and San Benito Counties started their “summer mobilization” effort Friday, and it runs through Labor Day, according to an announcement from the CHP.

Stuff the Bus program rings registers for local students

The second annual Stuff the Bus, in partnership with the County Office of Education, proved to be a huge success this past Saturday. Through the generosity of local donations volunteers filled 683 backpacks that were distributed to elementary schools throughout San Benito County.
Retired Hollister officer dies from injuries in January wreck
Andy Burgess, the former Hollister police officer from Gilroy injured in a January traffic accident, has died, according to the Hollister Police Department. He was 59 years old.
