Hollister council approves transfer of veterans building

The Hollister City Council unanimously approved a resolution Monday to transfer management of the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Hollister to the local chapters of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

Hollister man, 31, arrested for Gilroy vehicle theft

A 31-year-old Hollister man was arrested Tuesday for possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and driving on a suspended license, according to a press release from the Gilroy Police Department.

Mayor will continue to own The Vault, stay out of rally calls

Mayor Ignacio Velazquez plans to maintain ownership of The Vault restaurant building in downtown Hollister. And with it, he will continue to step away from any decisions relating to the annual motorcycle rally due to a financial conflict of interest.
